The history of Wild Yam as a medicinal herb stretches back for hundreds of years. It was popular in Central America among the Aztecs and Mayan peoples as a pain reliever and digestive aid.
Similar uses abound in traditional Chinese medicine, with the additions of using the herb for its supposed anti-aging properties, as well as a treatment for urinary difficulties and lowering blood pressure.
Take 1/2 teaspoon (approx. 2.5g) twice a day, preferably with or in-between meals. Mix with water, juice or yogurt.
